Our doctor
Anthony S. Ekong, MD, MBA, is a board-certified ophthalmologist specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of vitreoretinal diseases and uveitis. He received his Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Accounting from the University of Texas at Dallas, and an MBA in Finance at the University of Minnesota. After working for a number of years in corporate accounting, he decided to attend medical school.
Dr. Ekong received his medical degree from the University of Minnesota Medical School in Minneapolis, and completed his ophthalmology residency at Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Montefiore Medical Center in Bronx, New York. He completed a clinical fellowship in Ocular Immunology and Uveitis at the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary/Harvard Medical School in Boston, and a vitreoretinal fellowship at the Retina Vascular Center in Houston.
Dr. Ekong has traveled several times overseas on medical missions to provide care for people who would otherwise be unable to see an ophthalmologist. He has published several scientific articles in major ophthalmology journals and is a member of the American Uveitis Society and American Society of Retina Specialists.
Dr. Ekong is married, and is blessed with three children. Outside of work, he enjoys simple pleasures such as reading, exercising, and spending time with his family.
